Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has huge career numbers against DeMeco Ryans defenses but is winless going into Sunday’s Texans game.
The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback is 0-2 against Ryans-led defenses entering Sunday’s road matchup with the Houston Texans, according to Bengals.com.

Burrow first faced Ryans in 2021, when Ryans was the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator. Burrow posted a 125.6 passer rating, but Cincinnati lost 26-23 in overtime.
The second meeting came in 2023 after Ryans became Houston’s head coach. Burrow threw for 347 yards, but C.J. Stroud led the Texans to a last-play field goal in a 30-27 win at Paycor Stadium.
Despite the two losses, Burrow’s production has been remarkable. His 347.5 passing yards per game are the most by any quarterback with multiple starts against a Ryans defense, including the playoffs. His 106.5 passer rating ranks second among that group.
Ryans lauded Burrow this week, mentioning his accuracy, ball placement and ability to distribute the football.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati will try to turn Burrow's big-time numbers into its first win in the matchup.
