Welcome to Tuesday, Bulldog fans! Paycheck games are now complete, alternate unis have been adorned to wow the recruits, (hopefully) the worst weather of the season is behind us, and we can now turn our attention to conference play.

Head Coach Kirby Smart held his weekly press conference Monday afternoon, and he was consistent if anything. First, he will say some good things about the last game but quickly move into the upcoming opponent. Which he praises. And in the first few minutes, he will resond to a reporter’s question with “I don’t even know what you’re talking about”. Don’t worry, you didn’t miss much. There aren’t significant injuires (that we know about), and the official injury report won’t come out until Wedneday night.

But maybe the zinger of the day was in response to a question about Gunner Stockton’s experience compared to his first season starting last year, Coach Smart simply stated “It’s more valuable than not.”

In years past, I enjoyed reading the position grades from the Red & Black on the previous weekend’s game. It appears they have discontinued this feature, so I’m forced to go elsewhere. Alas, Dawgnation has one so I checked it out. When you score 70 points, and in all 3 phases, and your starting QB gets subbed halfway through the first quarter, it’s hard not to give out high grades.

While searching for news from Arkansas sites, of which not many were easily found, I checked razorbackers.com. What first caught my eye was this beauty of an article title: “Lane Kiffin and LSU embarrass former Arkansas head coach in dominant season opener”. This is an Arkansas site, mind you. Then I tumbled down the rabbit hole, savoring such delicious nuggets like “The most hated Arkansas Razorback coaches of all time, Ranked”. That is a serious fanbase my friends, and I tip my hat to them.

In Bulldog-centric news, we now know the kickoff and broadcast partner for the Oklahoma Sooners visit to Athens in 2 weeks. ABC/ESPN will televise the game at 3:30 pm ET. Even as bad as the Boomers looked against Michigan, their defense is still pretty legit. And I’m not sure Georgia will have a good SEC-level gauge until that time.

Florida State has fired their Athletic Director. The guy that provided the biggest jump in athletic department revenue has officially been shown the door (to be fair, he also put the deparment in the biggest fiscal debt). That cannot be a good feeling for football coach Mike Norvell, who happens to be visiting Tuscaloosa this weekend. Did we break FSU? This is the new world order in college football I’m afraid.

There’s not too much juicy gossip surrounding our #2 ranked Georgia Bulldogs, on the road to face an underwhelming SEC foe in full rebuilding mode with a first year head coach. But if you hear of anything, let us know in the comments. Have yourself a day, and as always…
