The result sparked a wave of reactions online, with fans particularly impressed by Atlanta’s offensive performance and the impact of Robinson and London.
One supporter summed up the surprise simply: “Who would’ve THOUGHT”
Another fan praised the way the Falcons performed across the night, writing: “Man I don’t think nobody expected this game to look like this. Packers looked bad in all phases. Offense couldn’t move the ball, defense couldn’t get off the field — they got dominated all night. Bijan man what can I say, the dude is just different. Him running the rock like that gave Penix a chance to find a rhythm and get comfortable, and him and London were on the same page all night.”
Robinson and London were repeatedly mentioned, with another fan celebrating: “WHAT A NIGHT FOR BIJAN ROBINSON AND DRAKE LONDON”
However, Packers fans had plenty to complain about after Green Bay’s defence struggled to contain Atlanta. One supporter bluntly wrote: “Packers have a Swiss cheese defense.”
Another questioned whether the problems run deeper, saying: “35 points says more about Green Bay’s defense than Atlanta’s offense. Are the Packers’ issues fixable or is this a systemic problem?”
Green Bay’s performance also led to speculation over head coach Matt LaFleur, with one fan writing: “Matt LaFleur could get fired”
Others were less interested in the bigger picture and simply frustrated by what they had watched, with one supporter saying: “Packers offense looks terrible! 😂”
For Falcons fans, though, the mood was very different. “Falcons came to play” summed up the reaction after Atlanta turned an 0-2 start into its first win.
Penix and the Falcons now have a mini-bye before travelling to New Orleans to face the Saints on October 5, while Green Bay will look to respond against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 4.
