McIlroy suggested it is Trump’s prerogative to come and watch the Irish Open earlier in the week when he was asked about the US President’s impending arrival in Doonbeg.
And during day three at the Irish Open, McIlroy was struggling out on the golf course when Air Force 1 began its final descent.
After his round on Saturday, he was asked to share his feelings about that, when speaking with UTV’s Ruth Gorman.
