Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft enjoyed a sweltering start to the 2025 campaign, so when he suffered a torn ACL in a Nov. 2 loss versus the Carolina Panthers, the locker room sort of resembled a funeral. Heck, Romeo Doubs practically gave a eulogy.
The then-Packers wide receiver was emotional when speaking on Kraft’s devastating injury, and while trying to gather his thoughts, he used the phrase, “Tucker is in a better place now.” The recovering pass-catcher had a big reaction to the memorable soundbite.
“I was sitting on my couch, leg propped up somewhere, and someone was on their phone and they showed me that, and I just lost it,” Kraft recalled while appearing on “Up & Adams.” “I thought that was so funny.”

Considering how frustrated the former third-round draft pick probably felt in that moment, it is good that Doubs was unintentionally able to make him laugh. That support helped propel Kraft forward during his arduous rehab process. He obviously has his own goals, which include signing a sizable contract extension, but the 25-year-old was itching to rejoin his teammates on the gridiron.
Although Doubs now plays for the New England Patriots, he represents the unity that Tucker Kraft was missing during his time away from the team. He is back with the Packers now, though, as he gradually prepares for the new season.
The South Dakota native registered 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns in just eight games in 2025. He should be moving with extra intensity after having his campaign end under brutal circumstances. Though, when Kraft does need to cool off and just smile, he can always remember the day that Romeo Doubs told the world he crossed over.
