The app, which was earlier piloted in select key legacy markets, is now available in India for TOEIC Speaking test takers, university students, working professionals and other English learners. Designed as a mobile-first platform, TOEIC Pal allows users to practise speaking skills at their convenience while gaining a better understanding of how responses are structured, assessed and improved.

App offers official TOEIC speaking practice

TOEIC Pal features official TOEIC content, including authentic TOEIC Speaking questions, model answers, TOEIC-aligned scoring and AI-powered guidance. Learners can practise a range of question types covered in the test, including Read Aloud, Describe a Picture, Respond to Questions and Express an Opinion.

The app also offers timed simulations and instant scoring, allowing users to monitor their performance and identify areas where they need to improve. The flexible format is designed to allow learners to fit English-speaking practice into their daily routines, whether they are preparing for the TOEIC Speaking test or looking to build confidence in workplace communication.

“Strong English communication skills are increasingly connected to career mobility, workplace readiness and global opportunity,” said Ratnesh Jha, Global General Manager of Institutional Language Products at ETS. “TOEIC Pal gives learners an official, accessible way to strengthen their speaking skills, prepare for the TOEIC Speaking test and build confidence for real-world workplace settings.”

Ajay Pratap Singh, Regional Director – South Asia, ETS, said the growing use of artificial intelligence is making English communication skills increasingly important in the workplace.

“As AI reshapes the workplace, English communication is becoming one of the clearest differentiators between employees who simply have technical skills and those who can turn that skill into real career growth,” he said. “TOEIC Pal gives learners across India a practical, accessible way to build the speaking confidence they need to stand out in this environment.”

English skills gain importance among Indian employers

The launch comes at a time when employers in India are placing greater emphasis on practical English communication skills alongside technical capabilities.

According to India findings from the 2026 TOEIC Global English Skills Report, 97% of HR decision-makers in India said English proficiency is more important today than it was five years ago. The figure is higher than the global average of 92%.

The report also found that 87% of HR decision-makers in India believe the growing use of AI has increased the need for strong English skills, compared with 81% globally.

The findings highlight the growing role of communication skills in employability and career development, particularly as workplaces become more technology-driven and globally connected.

TOEIC Pal is now available for download in India through the App Store and Google Play.
