Etobicoke rideshare driver accused of sexual assaults; car drives through busy Ajax park

Halton Regional Police have charged an Etobicoke man with sexual assault.

On June 16 at about 5:15 p.m., police said a woman was in the south parking lot of the Burlington GO Station when she was approached by the accused and allegedly sexually assaulted.
The woman immediately left the area, but was followed by the accused. Police alleged that the suspect sexually assaulted the woman a second time.
The woman did not suffer any physical injuries.
Mandeep Singh, 25, of Etobicoke, was arrested on Sunday and charged him with two counts of sexual assault. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
At the time of the incident, the accused was employed as an Uber driver and investigators believe there may be additional victims.

Aurora man accused of driving through playground
An Aurora man is facing two charges after allegedly driving his car through a busy Ajax park earlier this month.
On July 18, Durham Regional Police alleged the accused was driving his Toyota sedan through Rotary Park on Lake Driveway W. at about 6:30 p.m. Cops alleged that the suspect drove through the playground, splash pad and walking paths, which were filled with pedestrians, including young children.
No injuries were reported.
Officers located the vehicle in the Westney Rd.-Bayly St. area and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver allegedly fled from police.
Officers located the suspect vehicle again at Bayly and Harwood Ave. S. and attempted to block the vehicle from fleeing. The suspect allegedly tried to evade police, resulting in the vehicle colliding with an SUV before officers took the suspect into custody.
Ismail Abrahimzada, 23, from Aurora, is charged with dangerous operation and failure to stop for police.

Cops seeking ID of alleged thief
Police are asking for help in identifying a suspect linked to at least five thefts over the last several months in Toronto’s east end.
Toronto Police said the same suspect is believed to be involved in the incidents that span from September 2025 to July 21 and included “numerous products” being stolen from a retail business in the Danforth-Woodbine Aves. area.
“In each incident, the suspect selects a quantity of merchandise, makes no efforts to pay and exits the store,” police said in a news release.
They said the suspect has a thin build and tattoos on their left forearm and upper left arm.

Hamilton senior victim of romance scam: Cops
A Hamilton senior is out of pocket after an alleged repeat offender scammed him out of $20,000.
The victim allegedly fell prey to a 58-year-old woman from Niagara Falls with an alleged history of several romance scams. The accused was already out on two separate forms of judicial release in connection with similar offences in the Kitchener and Hamilton areas.
According to police, the third alleged attempt began when a 75-year-old man met and developed a relationship with the accused in March 2025.
In the months that ensued, the woman allegedly persuaded the man to give her thousands of dollars when she asked for money to cover funeral expenses for her parents. She assured the victim that the money would be repaid. The cops alleged that the funds were obtained through deception.
On July 22, Hamilton Police arrested Victoria Medalla and charged her with fraud over $5,000.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
