Shohei Ohtani is having another outstanding season for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but he will not be able to represent the team in Philadelphia next week.

The Dodgers announced that Ohtani will not participate in All-Star Game festivities as the two-way player deals with a knee injury. Ohtani has been a fairly durable player during the last six seasons, playing in at least 155 games in four of the previous five years.
Major League Baseball is hoping to have a strong All-Star week as it celebrates America's 250th birthday in Philadelphia. However, between Ohtani and Aaron Judge, two of the league's biggest stars will not participate.

The Dodgers announced on Friday that Ohtani will be forced to miss the 2026 All-Star Game due to irritation in his left knee. Ohtani will continue to serve as the team's designated hitter through the weekend, but he will no longer pitch for Los Angeles on his scheduled day to start Friday night.

Ohtani made his sixth-straight All-Star Game this year, and was able to play in each of the previous five. Ohtani was voted into the 2026 All-Star Game as the National League's starting designated hitter and received the most votes of any player in Major League Baseball.
