For the second time in three years – and only the third time ever – two Milwaukee Brewers have been recognized as the top defenders at their respective positions.

Second baseman Brice Turang and left fielder Jackson Chourio were named Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners in the National League on Sunday, Nov. 1.

It was Turang's second Gold Glove and Chourio's first.

Turang, who won his first Gold Glove in 2024 and was earned a Platinum Glove as the top overall defender in the NL, becomes the third Brewers player to win multiple awards and the first since first baseman Cecil Cooper in 1979 and 1980.

The 26-year-old, who beat out fellow finalists Brandon Lowe of the Pittsburgh Pirates and JJ Wetherholt of the St. Louis Cardinals, finished fifth in the majors among all players with 19 defensive runs saved and sixth with 14 defensive runs saved as measured by Major League Baseball.

Turang also finished second in the majors and first among all infielders with 23 defensive runs saved, a differing metric.

All three represent career highs for the fourth-year pro who is also coming off a monster year at the plate and is certain to earn some down-ballot votes for the NL Most Valuable Player Award.

Turang remains the only second baseman in Brewers history to win a Gold Glove.

Chourio, meanwhile, beat out four-time winner Ian Happ of the Chicago Cubs and Daylen Lile of the Washington Nationals after turning in what rated as easily the third-year pro's best defensive season.

Chourio, 22, ranked 48th in the majors among all players with seven outs above average and 39th with seven runs prevented. Among left fielders, Chourio's seven outs above average were one behind the majors' leader, Chandler Simpson of the Tampa Bay Rays.

With 13 defensive runs saved, Chourio finished 14th overall, seventh among all outfielders and second among left fielders.

Chourio also had eight outfield assists.

The Gold Glove represents a major step forward for Chourio, who had rated out as average to slightly above average in his previous two seasons.

Chourio is the fifth Brewers outfielder to win a Gold Glove, joining Sal Frelick in 2024, Lorenzo Cain in 2019, Carlos Gómez in 2013 and Sixto Lezcano in 1979.
