As the first quarter ended scoreless, the pressure to get points on the board was intense heading into the second quarter. As the Ole Miss Rebels led the Auburn Tigers 7-6 with a little over seven minutes left in the second quarter, star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw a pass to teammate Deuce Alexander, but the wide receiver dropped it, resulting in a turnover.

For Chambliss, this play added to his interception total this season.

With this interception, Chambliss has now accumulated eight interceptions and is at par with his LSU counterpart, quarterback Sam Leavitt, whom the college football world often compares him to. Both Leavitt and Chambliss are now tied for the most interceptions thrown by a quarterback in the SEC so far this season.

This infamous statistic for Chambliss has prompted fans online to call out his on-field display.

“This Trinidad Chambliss guy is a turnover MACHINE”, wrote a fan on X.

“(Sam) Leavitt is already better than Chambliss if you were wondering”, commented a fan on X.

At the time of writing, the Ole Miss Rebels lead the Auburn Tigers 24-15 late in the third quarter.

Which Quarterback Has the Most Interceptions in CFB 2026?

While the 2026 college football season has seen amazing moments on the field driven by quarterbacks, it has also seen plenty of misdirected passes and receiver fumbles that have led to more interceptions.

On a list no quarterback wants to top, Akron Zips quarterback Brayden Roggow leads with nine interceptions.

With Roggow leading this dreaded list, seven signal callers have thrown eight interceptions in the first nine weeks of this college football campaign, namely Ashton Daniels (Florida State Seminoles), Marcel Reed (Texas A&M Aggies), Sam Leavitt (LSU Tigers), JJ Kohl (FIU Panthers), Caden Creel (Jacksonville State Gamecocks), Jared Curtis (Vanderbilt Commodores), and Trinidad Chambliss (Ole Miss Rebels).
