Deion Sanders and his Colorado Buffaloes pulled off a resounding 27-24 overtime win against Kansas State on Saturday. The win snapped a five-game losing streak and gave Colorado their first win in the Big 12 this season. They won in a thriller as Isaac Wilson found Charlie Williams for an 11-yard touchdown pass in overtime. That was Williams’ only catch of the game, but it was enough to secure the much-needed victory for the Buffaloes.
In an on-the-field interview following the win, Sanders put the victory into perspective.
“Well, our kids, they’ve never stopped believing. Yeah. And the staff is unbelievable. I think our defensive coordinator as well as the offensive coordinator, when they needed it, they came through. And, I’m just so darn proud of these young men right now, and the fan base. I mean, it was darn near a sellout. The kids are still coming; they’re still supporting. We got one of the best fan bases in the country.”

He also said he wasn’t concerned about ending the losing streak, as he was more focused on his players’ well-being.
“Oh, I’m not even thinking about that. I just wanted these kids to play well, man, and have fun doing what they’re doing.”
He was also complimentary of Wilson and his game-winning touchdown throw to Williams.
“Isaac got nerve. That’s who Isaac is. Isaac just has nerve. I mean he’s a fighter, man. He’s gonna fight all the way until the end, and that’s what he did, and I’m proud of him.”
