Current Status, Repairs To Be Prioritised

During the inspection, Bhuse reviewed the educational facilities, classrooms, condition of school buildings, infrastructure and academic status of students. He directed the administration to assess the condition of all closed schools within the municipal limits and categorise them accordingly.

He instructed officials to complete repairs to school buildings and premises on a priority basis. They were also directed to ensure essential amenities, sanitation facilities, safety measures, classrooms and other necessary facilities for students.

CSR Funds, School Adoption Scheme

Bhuse stressed the need to improve municipal school buildings and premises so that they are more attractive and welcoming for students. He said creating a positive and joyful atmosphere could help improve parents’ perception of municipal schools.

He also emphasised that no fees should be charged to students. He suggested using CSR funds, wherever available, and giving priority to companies interested in adopting schools.

Bhuse said school premises should be used exclusively for educational purposes and expressed confidence that the NMC could restore the schools to their former glory through these efforts.
