The Philadelphia Eagles are heading into Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams without a lot of key players on both sides of the ball.
Zack Baun is out on the defensive side of the ball, and with Dallas Goedert and now DeVonta Smith both out, the offense is also down its top two pass catchers against a tough Rams defense.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, there's a bit more concern with Smith than with some other injury issues. According to Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Smith is potentially going to miss more than just this Week 4 matchup.
Eagles get worrying DeVonta Smith news amid hamstring injury
"DeVonta Smith (hamstring) was ruled out on the final injury report on Friday," Reiner writes. "He is expected to miss more than Sunday's game with a lingering right hamstring injury that initially caused him to miss time during camp. He could be out two to three games, two league sources said."
This update from Reiner is very concerning, as Smith might miss a lot more than just one week. There's a chance he's out for another two weeks.
Hamstring injuries can be tricky, and after dealing with one during training camp, Smith's status for Week 4 and beyond is clearly murky.

The one positive takeaway is that this doesn't seem to be an issue that'll warrant injured reserve, especially if he's going to come back after missing a few games.
Philadelphia is going to have to rely on Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon, and Darius Cooper to make up for the absence of Smith this season.
With A.J. Brown's trade, Smith's injury, Goedert's injury, and the lackluster running game, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense might have a lot of trouble this weekend.
The concern about Smith's injury is real, and while he might be okay in the long term, the short term might be a problem for Smith, with Week 4 possibly not being the time he misses this season with a hamstring injury.
