Last month, a former Cornell University student filed a lawsuit for an apparent gang rape that was conducted back in 2024. The news of the new sexual assault case has caused a media frenzy, as celebrities and even sports media commentators are weighing in on the recurring topic for college students.

Right-wing sports commentator Clay Travis addressed the story on his self-titled show Friday, with an insensitive perspective on the subject of sexual assault.

“One of the things I like to do, one of the things you’re trained to do if you’re a lawyer. They tell you, ‘Change the facts a little bit,’ change the facts a little bit, and see what principle is still there,” Travis said, as a former attorney. “So I said, ‘Let’s change the facts here;’ let’s pretend that instead of a girl at a fraternity, this is a boy and it’s at a sorority house.”

Travis described the scenario from a man’s perspective and concluded that modern-day America would not have the same outlook if that were true.

“Pretend that a guy goes to a sorority house, gets extremely drunk, does drugs off the naked bodies of sorority girls, and has multiple threesomes with as many as six or seven different girls in the same night,” Travis added. “Says immediately thereafter, ‘I consented to everything,’ and then later on decides that he was raped. Then two years later he files a lawsuit seeking millions of dollars in damages. What would happen? The guy would get ridiculed all over the internet for being a p*ssy.”

“The reason, though, that I’m changing the sex is, you can’t argue in my opinion; we want complete equality for everything: men, women, black, white, Asian, Hispanic; we want everybody treated the same.”

“And then decided that you could retroactively charge somebody with rape and that you can demand millions of dollars in damages for choices that you yourself made. And where I see this connected with the Lindsay Clancy case is modern-day left-wing feminism now believes basically that women are never responsible for the choices that they make and can’t be held responsible for them.”

The lawsuit has encountered many conflicts, as the laws in New York make it difficult to charge someone with sexual assault if the victim became voluntarily intoxicated. Conflicting stories of consent are also impeding the case as prosecutors rush to find justice for those involved.
