Each high school sports season — from football to basketball, softball to baseball, tennis to track, and more — there is plenty of highlight-reel material that wows the crowd. Those "You had to be there!" moments captured by fans and placing a spotlight on what makes the preps landscape so special.

The USA TODAY Network has launched a new video highlight submission portal for our audience. This UGC tool creates more opportunities to share the moments that matter most: your athlete's buzzer-beaters, game-winning scores, all the top highlights.
Ahead of the next incredible moment, here's what you need to know ...
How does the video submission process work?
Step 1. Under the high school sports tab on our website, click on the "Upload Your Video" link in the navigation bar.
Step 2. Upload your video highlight
- The max length accepted for downloads is 30 seconds per video (up to 500 MB). Files must beMP4, MOV or AVI.
Step 3. Enter event details
- Athlete's name
- School name, state and the opponent (if applicable)
- Sport and event date
- Describe the play — the story behind the highlight
Step 4. Enter contact information and relationship to athlete
- Full name
- Email address (USA TODAY Network outlets will only use this to contact you about your submission)
- Relationship to the athlete (parent, grandparent, legal guardian or other family member)
Step 5. Consent
- USA TODAY Network won't accept highlights unless the submitter has agreed to and completed the full legal consents required for the submission.
Once Step 5 is completed, submit your video!
From there, News-Journal editors can review highlights for possible inclusion in everything from Plays of the Month to standalone highlight-reel clips for social media to in-article placements for game recaps and other content.
