The Atlanta Braves announced Thursday that left-hander Martín Pérez is headed to the 15-day injured list with inflammation in his lower back. The move is retroactive to September 21. In a corresponding move, the club called up righty Elieser Hernández.

It’s unfortunate timing as the Postseason is right around the corner, but skipper Walt Weiss said that things are “mapped out.”
Pérez has been effective this season, manufacturing a 3.04 ERA through 30 games. He’s recorded 102 strikeouts in 142 innings.
