If you’re looking for Jared McCain to drop some music, you might have to wait a little while longer.

McCain shared that his musical aspirations are going to be put on hold while he focuses on the upcoming NBA season.

“I probably wouldn’t at the moment, no. I’m too focused on basketball right now. But you never know in the future. Maybe one day,” McCain told TMZ Sports in a report published on Sept. 21.

The Oklahoma City Thunder star is often seen on social media singing, but at this time, any plans for original music have been put on hold.

The NBA star McCain is popular on and off the court with fans enjoying his antics online. He has over five million followers on TikTok and over the summer, he shared his ongoing fandom for Olivia Dean who he saw in concert. The NBA star recapped the night to fans in a video on TikTok.

Now it seems that McCain is hyper focused into basketball mode while he prepares for his first full season with OKC. He was the 16th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and was traded back in February by the Philadelphia 76ers where he had his first two seasons in the league.

He revealed when he first got traded it was “heartbreaking” but he has received nothing but love since arriving at OKC.

During OKC’s playoff run, McCain averaged 10.0 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.0 assist across 15 games making his time on the court a vital part to the team’s success. While they ultimately loss to the San Antonio Spurs at the Western Conference Finals, he was still able to reflect on his time in the WCF.

“I never had expectations for myself coming in,” he said. “Once I knew that I can provide some help for this team, it was almost like, let me. I want to do anything I can to help this team win.”

“If you told me four months ago that I would start in some Western Conference Finals games and play the role that I was able to play, not that I thought you were crazy, but I would look at you a little weird.”

McCain will be back on the court for OKC’s first game of the season with a rematch against the Spurs on Oct. 20.
