Arteta calms Arsenal contract fears: ‘We’re aligned, nothing to worry about’ as new deal announcement nears

Mikel Arteta has said there is nothing to be concerned about regarding his contract extension at Arsenal and said he and the owners are aligned.
The Spaniard's future has been a regular topic in recent months with no announcement on a new deal at the Emirates.

Arteta has entered the final year of his contract with the North Londoners, despite co-chairman Josh Kroenke calling a new deal the club's'upmost priority' in May. Kroenke's comments came after Arteta guided Arsenal to the Premier League title to end a 22-year wait to be crowned champions of England.
Arteta was asked again about his future ahead of this weekend's clash against Brighton in the Premier League and was keen to again ease concerns over the situation.
He said he and the club's owners are 'very much aligned' about his future and suggested an announcement on a new deal was due.
"I think we are all very much aligned and whenever the time is right we will get it done. There is nothing to be concerned about," he said at his pre-match press conference.
"I don't know if the timing will be the same or different [as signing his last extension during the autumn international break]. We both have the same ambition and the same will so whenever we have time we will get that resolved."
