Hall of Fame announces its new group of voters

The recent overhaul of the Hall of Fame selection process includes a dramatic reduction in the number of voters, from 50 down to 28.

On Thursday, the Hall of Fame announced the new group of voters.
They are: Hall of Famer Jared Allen, Howard Balzer of USA Today, Jarrett Bell of USA Today, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Vic Carucci of WGRZ-TV, Mike Chappell of CBS4/Fox59, Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Hall of Famer Dan Fouts, Scott Garceau of WMAR-TV, Bob Glauber, Vahe Gregorian of the Kansas City Star, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic, Lindsay Jones of The Ringer, Ira Kaufman of JoeBucsFan.com, Ross Ketover of NFL Films, Sam Kouvaris, Jeff Legwold of ESPN, Rob Maadi of the Associated Press, Gary Myers, Sal Paolantonio of ESPN, Dan Pompei of The Athletic, Mike Sando of The Athletic, Hall of Famer Will Shields, Jim Trotter, Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, Eric Williams of Fox Sports, and Charean Williams of PFT.
There's no apparent rhyme or reason regarding the decisions made to keep and to cut loose members from the former panel of 50. If anything, fewer voters can create more problems because it takes a smaller group to screw things up.
But it wouldn't be the first time that the nameless, faceless folks who control the Hall of Fame screwed something up. It would simply be the latest.
