Chase Elliott brake rotor explodes, crashes into Chase Briscoe at NASCAR Gateway race

Chase Elliott and Chase Briscoe crashed out of the NASCAR Chase after Elliott's brakes failed on Lap 215 of the NASCAR Gateway race on Sept. 13.

Elliott's brakes failed, causing him to hit the wall and spin. Briscoe could not avoid Elliott with 27 laps to go.
Elliott said a brake rotor exploded in a NASCAR TV interview on USA. He said he had no real warning.
Briscoe was running fifth, and Elliott was seventh in the race at the time. Briscoe came into the race at fifth in the Chase standings and Elliot eighth.
It brought out a season-high 14th yellow flag.
