No. 4 Notre Dame picked up where it left off at halftime in its home opener against the Rice Owls.

This time it was Fighting Irish tight end Cooper Flanagan catching a 2-yard touchdown pass from quarterback CJ Carr as the Owls' defense was looking for Notre Dame to run the ball in a goal-line situation.

A wide-open Flanagan pulled it in, and with the extra point, Notre Dame extended its lead to 49-0. That finished off a 6-play, 75-yard drive that took 3:19.
