Outfielder Jasson Dominguez's tenure with the New York Yankees may be nearing an end.

It wasn't that long ago that Dominguez was compared to Mike Trout and Mickey Mantle as the next great slugger.
But that level of hype for the former top prospect has completely worn off.
Dominguez is yet to cement himself as a regular in New York's crowded outfield thanks to being inconsistent at the plate and sloppy defense at the corner outfield positions.
With Trent Grisham's impending free agency, Spencer Jones appears to be the center fielder of the future in the Bronx. Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge round out the Yankees outfield.
Would it be best for the Yankees and Dominguez if he were traded this offseason? FanSided's Christopher Kline says yes, also arguing that the AL East club should send Dominguez to Triple-A to finish the season.
"He continues to make mind-numbing errors in the outfield with poor instincts all around. There's no shortage of natural pop off the bat, but Domínguez struggles to get the barrel on the ball frequently enough for it to matter much," Kline wrote. "The Yankees probably need him to stay in Triple-A a while — or perhaps an offseason trade is in order."

For now, Dominguez is useful as a late-game replacement for Judge, who just returned from a fractured rib and may be pulled from games after three at-bats, or about six or seven innings.
But the Yankees could also use Heliot Ramos in pinch-hitting scenarios against left-handed pitching.
Dominguez may be better off with a clean slate with a new organization. He's still just 23, but the Yankees have not shown much confidence in his ability to become the star everyone was hoping for.
