Penn State’s “White Out” is set to return in primetime during the 2026 college football season.

Penn State football’s official X account posted on Tuesday that the famous “White Out” game will be on Oct. 10 against USC.

It will be under the lights at 7:30 p.m. ET.
This is a yearly tradition for Penn State football when every fan comes to Beaver Stadium dressed in white. It’s one of the most intimidating atmospheres in college football, making it tough for opposing players to hear one another on the field.
Last year’s “White Out” came on Sept. 27 against the Oregon Ducks, a game that Oregon won in double overtime, 30-24. Both teams came into the game with perfect records and were ranked in the top 10 of the AP poll.
An interception from former Penn State quarterback Drew Allar in double OT clinched the win for Oregon.
A new era
Now that former head coach James Franklin is the head coach at Virginia Tech, it’s on Matt Campbell to bring Penn State back. He did a terrific job at Iowa State for 10 seasons before accepting the Penn State job last December, compiling a 72-55 overall record.
Campbell won at least eight games five times and had his best season in 2024 when Iowa State finished 11-3.
Campbell’s first game as Penn State’s head coach will be on Sept. 5 against Marshall. Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
