‘Coward’: Dave Portnoy takes another shot at Mina Kimes

Dave Portnoy’s beef with ESPN’s Mina Kimes is a longstanding one. It began in 2021, when Kimes retweeted a Business Insider piece looking into allegations of sexual misconduct against the Barstool Sports founder.
Since then, Portnoy has gone out of his way to lambaste Kimes publicly on multiple occasions. Kimes has never taken the bait, preferring to let Portnoy yell into the void about her, but he isn’t showing any signs of stopping.

On Wednesday, Portnoy used a fan question about Bob Iger, the new Los Angeles Lakers co-owner and former Disney CEO, to get in a shot at Kimes.
‘How does she even look in the mirror?’
Portnoy was asked for his thoughts on Iger purchasing the Lakers with Josh Kushner, and he made it quite clear he’s not a fan of the 75-year-old Hollywood fixture.
Portnoy went on to say he despises Iger because the latter “tried to fire me from Barstool.” He claims that several years ago, when ESPN was reaching a deal with Penn Entertainment, which owned Barstool, Iger asked that Portnoy not be involved.
This was hypocritical, Portnoy argues, because ESPN has become heavily influenced by Barstool. He cited Pat McAfee and the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast as examples before taking aim at Kimes.
“How does Minka Kimes [sic] or whatever that f*cking coward’s name even look in the mirror and work there?” he asked.
It’s unclear whether Portnoy kept going, because the clip cuts off. But it’s obvious that he’s not going to pass up a chance to swipe at Kimes.
Same as it ever was
This is the second public salvo Portnoy has fired at Kimes in a month. On July 21, in the middle of ESPN’s latest round of layoffs, he called for her dismissal on X.
“Boo!!!! Karl Ravech is awesome! How does Mina Kimes have a job before Ravech? Mina Kimes is the worst of the worst of the worst!” Portnoy tweeted.
If we had to guess, Kimes will ignore this slight the same way she has all of the past ones. We’re also pretty sure this won’t be the last time Portnoy says something negative about her.
