DANNY K’S WIFE REMEMBERED FOR BRAVE FIGHT
In an emotional Instagram post, Lisa Koppel’s sister Justine Gundelfinger paid tribute to her sibling.
Justine – an actress – revealed that Lisa had passed on Women’s Day – on Sunday, 9 August. Lisa was remembered as a successful supermodel, lawyer and businesswoman.
She shared: “My magical Princess Angel Lillie [her nickname] had the purest and kindest heart. She was stunning, delicate, gentle and soft like a petal. Yet carried within her a strength beyond measure and the remarkable ability to endure even the greatest of storms. Her selfless, down-to-earth, gentle nature, witty sense of humour, brilliant mind, and unconditional love and devotion to her husband, Danny [K], their children, our family and her friends made her truly extraordinary.

“She was very hardworking, caring, generous, altruistic and remarkably modest. She was utterly devoted to those she loved and had the incredible gift of making everyone around her feel valued and cared for. Her magnificent children, Jayden, Kyle and Chloe and her husband were the centre of her universe. The boundless love, strength, kindness, patience, and good values she gave them will live within them forever and remain among the greatest expressions of her legacy.
Justine revealed that Lisa Koppel had died after a brave battle with an illness.
She continued: “When Lisa faced the most brutal battle imaginable, she fought with such fortitude, powerful determination, extraordinary courage and phenomenal heroism. She was truly the bravest and strongest woman I have ever known. Her resilience was beyond comprehension. I will forever be in awe of the strength with which she faced even the greatest adversity.
“There is something deeply poignant about honouring Lisa on Women’s Day because to me, she embodied everything extraordinary about being a woman. We mourn her, but we also celebrate her beautiful life, her humour, her generous spirit, her incredible style, grace and elegance, her devotion to her family, and the immense love she gave so freely.

SINGER’S BEST FRIEND AND SOULMATE
Danny K married Lisa Koppel (née Gundelfinger), whom he has described as his “best friend” and “soulmate,” in 2012 at the Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West, Western Cape.
The couple started dating in 2010, shortly after his engagement to ex, Lee-Ann Liebenberg, ended.
Coincidentally, Lee-Ann dated and is now married to businessman Nicky van der Walt, who dated Lisa around the same time as her own relationship with the singer.
Danny K told the Sunday Times in 2020: “It wasn’t an orchestrated swap. It is simply convenient because we both landed up with the people we were meant to be with.”
He continued: “When I look at my kids, and my life, I couldn’t imagine it any other way.”
