Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Elijah Moore is already fitting right in with his new quarterback, Jalen Hurts. During a recent training camp press conference, Moore delivered a masterclass in handling the media, subtly channeling Hurts to effortlessly shut down a question regarding former Eagles star A.J. Brown.
When asked about whether he spoke to Brown, who was traded to the New England Patriots this offseason after helping win Super Bowl LIX with Philadelphia, Moore wasn’t having any of it. Before answering, the 26-year-old wideout took a long, deliberate sip of his water. This perfectly mirrored a signature move Hurts often uses to pause before addressing the press.
“I think A.J. plays for the Patriots now and I don’t want to make anything more than what it is,” Moore told reporters calmly. “I play for the Eagles.”

It was a mic-drop moment that showed Moore is completely focused on the present. Following a 2025 season split between the Buffalo Bills and a late practice squad stint with the Denver Broncos, Moore signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia in March 2026. Now, he is looking to carve out a permanent role in an offense that has major targets to replace following Brown’s departure.
Brown undeniably left massive shoes to fill, boasting 524 career receptions, 8,029 receiving yards, and 56 touchdowns, including his highly instrumental role in securing a championship before getting moved. However, while Brown’s dominant legacy in Philly is secure, Moore’s focus remains squarely on building chemistry with Hurts and the rest of the current receiver room. Moore brings solid career production to the table, having amassed 209 receptions for 2,274 yards and nine touchdowns across his time with the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Bills, and Broncos.
The Eagles need players who are ready to step up and perform on Sundays, not dwell on offseason trades. By sipping his water and dismissing the outside noise, Moore proved he already understands the assignment.
