Tony Romo Placed on Leave at CBS Sports After DUI Arrest

CBS Sports has placed lead NFL analyst Tony Romo on leave following his arrest last week in Milwaukee on suspicion of driving under the influence, the network confirmed Friday.
“Tony Romo is on leave from his role at CBS Sports until further notice,” a CBS Sports spokesperson said in a statement.

The move creates uncertainty atop CBS’ NFL broadcast team just weeks before the start of the 2026 season. Romo has served as the network’s No. 1 game analyst since 2017 alongside Jim Nantz, becoming one of the highest-profile voices in live sports television.
In the statement, CBS did not say how long Romo’s leave is expected to last or who would replace him on upcoming broadcasts.
