The men's competition, being held at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, follows a slightly different structure. India, alongside Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, have earned seeded status, allowing all four nations to bypass the preliminary stage and enter directly at the quarter-final level.
The remaining six teams have been split into two groups for a round-robin preliminary phase, with the top two finishers from each group progressing to fill the last four quarter-final berths.
On the men's side, Shreyas Iyer has been handed the captaincy for India's campaign, with Tilak Varma named as his deputy.
The 15-member squad also includes teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, continuing his rapid rise through India's cricketing ranks. For the women's team, Harmanpreet Kaur retains the captaincy she has held previously, with Smriti Mandhana continuing in the vice-captain's role.
