Malik Nabers avoids PUP list as Giants training camp nears

The Giants announced the first batch of players who will start the upcoming 2026-27 season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and wide receiver Malik Nabers is not on it.
New York is set to start training camp in West Virginia next week, and the club announced that tight end Thomas Fidone II, DL Sam Roberts and DL Roy Robertson-Harris will miss the first four weeks of the season, at least, after being placed on the PUP list on Thursday.

Nabers avoiding the PUP list means there's a chance the former first-round pick could return to the club sooner than expected after the wideout suffered a torn ACL and underwent surgery last October. However, Nabers had to undergo a second surgery on his left knee earlier this year.
Although the second surgery is not ideal for Nabers or the Giants, the club remained optimistic about Nabers' eventual return. They said he was progressing well, but that he wouldn't do much in the early stages of the team's offseason program.
First-year head coach John Harbaugh said on the first day of voluntary workouts that he expects Nabers to get back on the field as they progress deeper into camp and closer to the season.
Nabers, 22, played just four games last season but came down with two touchdowns and accumulated 271 yards receiving. That was coming off a fantastic rookie campaign where he caught 109 passes for 1204 yards and seven touchdowns.Darius Slayton
