Marco Reus backs Jürgen Klopp to succeed with the German national team

Jürgen Klopp is oh so close to becoming the new coach of the German national football team, with only a few nitty gritty details left to be finalized. Excitement is brewing for this new chapter for Die Mannschaft and someone who knew Klopp very well gave his backing for the hire.

“He’s the perfect coach no matter for club or national team,” LA Galaxy forward Marco Reus said (beIN Sports as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “He will change a lot of things, not only the first team.” Reus played for Klopp at Borussia Dortmund from 2012 to 2015; Reus remained with Dortmund until 2024.

Reus can technically still be called up to the German national football team, as he hasn’t announced his retirement from the national team yet, as his last game for them was in 2021. Going back, Klopp’s imminent hiring has garnered massive support, and it stretched to his former players.
