‘It’s so annoying’ – England fans share what they hate about US soccer culture

England soccer fans have not held back in telling the US exactly what they do not like about their soccer culture.

The 2026 World Cup has largely been a huge success in the United States, with the USMNT’s push to the last 16 gaining a lot of new supporters.
Mauricio Pochettino and his men can only watch on now as the likes of England look to secure their spot in the final four of the tournament.
The English will play in Miami on Saturday, with their supporters having the last laugh over US soccer fans following their progression to the quarter-finals.
England supporters have claimed the bragging rights over a hopeful US fanbase, and they have not shied away from informing the hosts exactly what they have not liked about the soccer culture across the pond.

One English journalist thanked Mexico for their hospitality less than a week ago following their win at the Azteca.
The same is not being said when it comes to the US soccer fans, though.
“They call it soccer. I keep explaining to them that it’s football because you play with your feet, but they keep calling it soccer. It’s so annoying,” one England supporter told DAZN.
Another Englishman admitted he wanted a bit more banter with the US fans, but they were too friendly to offer anything in response.
“They’re too nice, I get confused. Yeah, they’re too nice. Even when you’re chanting obscenities at them, we like a bit of hostility.”
“They go: ‘Have a nice day’. That’s not the response I was waiting for.”
There was even one England supporter who took aim at the US coverage of this summer’s World Cup.
“The commentators of these matches… There’s got to be a way to silence the commentators but keep the crowd sound. The only way I can do it right now is switch over to the Spanish channel,” he said.
Some England supporters have loved the US experience, but it is apparent that there is still some way to go when it comes to the game of soccer itself.
