But if you're planning to catch up in the morning, how do you avoid spoilers on your lock screen?
We've put this guide together so you can either follow every moment or be blissfully unaware of the outcome.
The first thing to know is you'll only get notifications from BBC Sport if you have the BBC Sport app downloaded on your device. If you're on your mobile, you can download it here.
If you want updates...
Click the menu button in the top right of the BBC Sport app, and hit 'Notifications'.
For news updates without spoilers before 09:00 BST, tap 'Add notifications', head to 'Sport News' and select 'Top Stories' and 'Football News'.
For automatic score updates, including goal alerts, tap 'Add notifications', head to 'Football' and select 'FIFA World Cup' then 'England Men' to choose the type of notifications you want.
If you don't want updates...
Click the menu button in the top right of the BBC Sport app, and hit 'Notifications'.
Check if you are following 'England Men'.
If you are, tap on it and turn off the notifications you no longer want.
If you aren't, you won't get any notifications that include spoilers.
If you want to be extra safe, you can select 'Mute all notifications' - just remember to unmute them once you know the result!
