As a massive Boston sports fan, Dave Portnoy has some strong opinions about the New York Knicks and their fans.
After the Knicks won their first NBA championship in 53 years over the weekend, Portnoy shared those opinions on Monday's episode of "Wake Up Barstool."
While Portnoy likes and respects the Knicks players, he can't stand their fans.
"How can you not like Brunson? He's small, everyone doubted him... [The Knicks] are a supremely likable team, their fans are jerks, their fans are everything that makes everybody hate New York." - @stoolpresidentepic.twitter.com/DtnGo49LWb

"My hat's off to the Knicks players, who are a very likable team. How can you not like Brunson?" Portnoy said. "They're a supremely likable team. Their fans are jerks. Their fans are everything that makes everybody hate New York. They riot and they burn down the city like it's Gotham... Seeing what they do to the city, that bothers me. Seeing New Yorkers celebrate bothers me. The team itself, very worthy."
Portnoy called out Knicks fans for being fake fans during the series, wondering how many of them would be rooting for the Los Angeles Lakers if the Lakers had made the Finals instead.
The Knicks themselves are hard to hate, however, even for Portnoy. They're tough, clutch and play as a team, so even some Celtics fans couldn't help but root for them during their historic playoff run.
