‘She needs to stop falling down so much’: Caitlin Clark does not hold back on teammate

· Yahoo Sports

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark talks with media Friday, May 22, 2026, before a game against the Golden State Valkyries at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

After a disappointing season-opening loss to the Dallas Wings, the Indiana Fever have responded in a big way, winning four of its next five games to get to a 4-2 record, tied for second best in the WNBA.

A big part of the Fever’s ascendant play has been the removal of the minutes restriction surrounding wing Lexie Hull, who started the season dealing with a nagging hamstring. Hull’s presence has been especially felt on the defensive side of the floor, where her impact has contributed to the Fever having one of the best defenses in the league, according to advanced analytics.

Fever star Caitlin Clark is well aware of Hull’s impact and is imploring her teammate to stop falling so much in games.

“She’s been great since coming back from the hamstring injury,” Clark said to reporters at practice on Tuesday. “I told her she needs to stop falling down so much, like she’s just constantly falling down. It stresses me out. She’s got this cut on her leg and it just doesn’t stop bleeding; she’s always on the ground.”

As nervous as it may make Clark, as long as Hull can stay healthy, the Fever will gladly deal with the wing falling as long as she can continue to contribute at such a high level.
