PSG likely to sign 18-year-old goalkeeper this summer

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly on the verge of signing an 18-year-old goalkeeper, according to L’Équipe. Whilst the deal is said to be at an advanced stage and the player is believed to be Spanish, no name has yet been revealed.

Luis Campos, the sporting director of the reigning European champions, has been working on this recruitment for several weeks. With this move, PSG are looking to secure a future talent, as they did notably with Renato Marin (19), who is regarded within the club as a player with a future at the very highest level.

So what about the hierarchy at goalkeeper? And, in particular, where does Lucas Chevalier (24) fit into the pecking order? Brought in last summer for €55 million, the former LOSC Lille goalkeeper has had a difficult season, marked by a drop in status both at club level (no playing time since 23rd January) and in the national team, having not been selected by France’s Didier Deschamps for the 2026 World Cup. Could this mean he is already set to leave this summer? Possibly, even though he remains under contract with PSG until 2030.
