Dragons stay hot; defeats Fort Rucker Football Club in friendly match

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)—It was a special night inside Rip Hewes Stadium, as the Dothan United Dragons took on the Fort Rucker Football Club.
And this was more than your average non-divisional matchup; it was a match put on for the men and women who have sacrificed nearly everything for the greater good of this country.

Dothan entered the night having allowed zero goals this season, and that remains true as the team prepares for the start of league play.
Fort Rucker came out in this one with a physical mentality, making Dothan work for every shot on goal.
Just before the eighth minute of action, Tito Porter would break through for the Dragons’ first points of the game thanks to a shot that was set up by a Joshua Hallenburger assist.
And that goal would start a massive snowball effect for the rest of the game.
Fan-favorite Ryan Holmes put on yet another absolute stunner, securing his second straight hat trick to start the season.
But he wasn’t alone, as newcomer Oskar Kaufman grabbed a hat trick of his own in the second half of action.
Dothan would go on to cruise to a victory in a match that allows the team to fine-tune its game, as the Dragons have a matchup against their heated rival, Montgomery FC, on the horizon.
The time for fun is now over, as this upcoming matchup will be the beginning of the Dragon’s league play stretch.
This game is set to kick off on Saturday, May 16th, at 7:00 pm in Rip Hewes Stadium.
