UNC basketball eyeing another international prospect

While North Carolina has been able to land a few pieces in the transfer portal, the roster may not be complete for Michael Malone in his first season as head coach.

The former NBA coach took over for Hubert Davis and now has the task of rebuilding the roster. So far, he's added to the backcourt, and now this week, he's also landed a pair of frontcourt players.

With the Tar Heels landing Cade Bennerman and Sayon Keita, they are off to a good start in terms of depth. But now, they have their eyes on another international prospect.

Per Shelby Swanson, Malone and Chuck Martin are still overseas scouting players and have a new target. That target is Senegalese prospect Momo Faye. The center is ranked as a four-star recruit who currently plays for Paris Basketball.

North Carolina did lose a commitment from Maxim Logue and have now turned their attention to Faye. Landing him would be huge for their depth this season.

As of now, it appears as if UNC is one of the favorites to land him and could be earning a commitment in the near future.
