Heading into his third year with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Teoscar Hernandez will look to provide the same level of production he had in 2024. When he finished with a .272 batting average, .339 on-base percentage, and .840 OPS while hitting 33 home runs and 99 RBI.
He seemed off in his second year, finishing with a .247 batting average, .284 on-base percentage, and .739 OPS while hitting 25 home runs and 89 RBI.
The slump in his second year might have stemmed from a lingering injury he was dealt.
Teoscar Hernandez played through groin injury in 2025
"I wasn't moving the way I know I can move," Teoscar Hernandez told The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.
A groin injury that resulted in him missing two weeks in May seemed to not be enough, and Hernandez "never really felt right" Ardaya added.
Hernandez, 33, used this offseason to get healthy again. While spending time in the humid Caribbean during the winter, he lost 10 pounds and is back at the 204-pound build that he usually plays at.
Although he wasn't playing at full strength, Hernandez was able to kick his talents into full gear in the postseason. On the way to the Dodgers' second straight World Series, he hit five home runs and 13 RBI in 17 games.
In his second season of a three-year, $66 million contract, Hernandez is back with a vengeance as Los Angeles begins their reign for a third straight World Series title.
