“OMGGGG I WANT TO FLIP TABLES I WANT TO SCREAM I WANT TO CRY,” Olympic medalist Adam Rippon wrote in the comments. He continued in another comment, “I am also OBSESSED with how gay it is to propose in sweats. I LOVE YOU GIRLS!”

Both Knight and Bowe have indicated that the 2026 Olympics would be their final time competing in the international sports competition, per NBC CT. The couple met at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeonchang, per Newsday and began dating during the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, per NBC CT. Milan Cortina’s games are Knight’s fifth Winter Olympics as part of the U.S. women’s hockey team and Bowe’s fourth. Both are already Olympic medalists.

Knight and Bowe are the second and third members of Team LGBTQ — an unofficial term for the queer and trans athletes participating in the Olympics — to get engaged during the Italy-set games. Bisexual gold medal skier Breezy Johnson, who broke her medal about 15 minutes after getting it, also got engaged to her fiancé Connor Watkins, who proposed at the finish line of her Super-G race, per People.
