Players of the game in Penn State's Week 10 win over Washington
· Yahoo Sports
It was a nervy game, but the Nittany Lions were able to gut out their second Big Ten win of the year against the Washington Huskies on the road. Still, most of the Nittany Lions' best moments came in the first half, where they had four scoring drives on six possessions and compiled 303 first-half yards. At the center of that effort was wide receiver Chase Sowell, who came back from injury with another great performance, delivering 125 yards, a touchdown and many a highlight-reel grab. Defensively, it was more of a collective effort before they ultimately bent in the second half. Much like through the rest of the season, Tony Rojas was the heartbeat of everything they did well, especially at the line of scrimmage.

They are this week's Players of the Game.
Offense: Chase Sowell, Penn State wide receiver
Chase Sowell may be the sole reason the offense looked good at all in this game. He was the only Penn State receiver who was able to create any separation downfield and most importantly, was Rocco Becht's most trusted target. He averaged 8.5 yards per catch and had maybe the catch of the season for the blue and white with a one-handed grab on a third and 9 in the third quarter. Imagine what this game could have looked like without him, especially considering Rocco Becht's struggles in the second half. It's made even more painful knowing that him and Koby Howard would be even scarier for opposing defenses.
Defense: Tony Rojas, Penn State linebacker
Rojas almost always wins this by default simply because no one embodies Nittany Lions leadership more than him. He was the leading tackler for the blue and white tonight, including five solo stops. One of his most impressive plays came late in the second quarter, where he nearly sacked Williams in the end zone for a safety and ensuring that the Huskies offense would remain stagnant the entire first half. While the defense cooled off in the second half, Rojas continues to earn individual plaudits for this team and this unit.
