A clip from the Celtics-Hornets game at Spectrum Center showed Pritchard rocking pink Caitlin 1s. In the clip, Pritchard pulled off a step-back 3, a move Clark also has in her arsenal.
After seeing the clip, fans had a field day on social media as they connected the dots between Clark’s signature shoe and Pritchard’s spot-on shooting.
“We are now full circle,” one fan tweeted.
Pritchard finished with 12 points on 4-for-6 shooting from deep. This was his best outside shooting performance in quite some time, as the former Sixth Man of the Year had shot 0-for-12 from beyond the arc over his past three games.
The Celtics came away with a 119-80 win and Pritchard had himself a viral moment.
“We Should Have Had a 3-Point Contest”: Illinois HC Brad Underwood Makes Hilarious Quip After Caitlin Clark and Peja Stojakovic Attend Game vs. Penn
It’s not just the Caitlin 1s that are going viral. In the WNBA offseason, Caitlin Clark herself has maintained a TV presence.
On Thursday, Clark was spotted in the sea of spectators for the Illinois-Penn game at State Farm Center. After the Fighting Illini won 112-70, Illinois coach Brad Underwood joked that Clark and NBA legend Peja Stojakovic (also in attendance) could have had an epic showdown.
“We should have had a three-point contest to see who the best shooter in the gym was, cause it wasn’t anybody who played tonight…No offense to any of those guys.”
Underwood, who is coaching Stojakovic’s son Andrej, added that Clark’s body of work in the WNBA is “pretty spectacular.”
