According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, the Arizona Cardinals and Ravens are working on finalizing a trade that would send Brissett to Baltimore.
The deal, Schefter says, is expected to be completed during the weekend. The exact compensation was not immediately revealed.
“Trade: the Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a trade to send QB Jacoby Brissett to the Baltimore Ravens, per (Ian Rapoport) and me. Deal is expected to be completed this weekend,” he reported.

The addition of Brissett won’t help the Ravens for their Thursday night tilt against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Schefter reiterated that the deal won’t get done until after the Week 9 contest, but the expectation is Brissett will start in Week 10.
“The trade will not be finalized in time for Jacoby Brissett to play Thursday night vs. Jacksonville,” Schefter said. “But once it is, he will be expected to make his debut in Week 10 on Monday Night Football versus the Chargers.
Why Ravens traded for Jacoby Brissett

Credit: Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images via Reuters Connect (Reuters)The deal comes in the wake of the Ravens losing both starter Lamar Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley to significant injuries, with both coming in the Week 8 contest.
Jackson came down with a thumb injury that required surgery and landed him on injured reserve, and there’s a chance he misses the rest of the season.
Meanwhile, Huntley has a turf toe injury that will knock him out for the rest of the season.
That left the team with only rookie quarterback Joe Fagnano, who struggled in relief of both Jackson and Huntley, and recently signed signal-callers, Kedon Slovis and Austin Reed.

Brissett was having a rough time in Arizona before the impending trade.
He was benched for Gardner Minshew in the game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8. Minshew then led the Cardinals on a miraculous comeback, which was enough for the Cardinals to name him the starter for Week 9.
Nobody will mistake Brissett for a top-flight quarterback, but he’s a steady hand under center and certainly a better option than anyone the Ravens have now.
