How much it cost Juventus to bolster their squad in the summer of 2025

Juventus invested heavily in their squad during the summer of 2025 as the Bianconeri attempted to remain competitive across all competitions and improve their chances of enjoying a successful campaign.

The recruitment drive was overseen by Damien Comolli, who focused much of his attention on targets outside Italy. Among the notable arrivals were Lois Openda, Jonathan David and Edon Zhegrova.

David joined on a free transfer, while Juventus had to spend money to secure the services of the other two. Joao Mario also arrived from FC Porto, despite the Bianconeri selling a player to the Portuguese club.

Juventus spent heavily on summer recruitment

Despite their significant investment, Juventus struggled to deliver the expected results, slipping down the league table and failing to qualify for the Champions League. That disappointing campaign ultimately cost Comolli his job.

The club have now revealed the amount spent during that transfer window, with Tuttomercatoweb reporting that Juventus invested €131.8 million in strengthening their squad ahead of the season under Igor Tudor and subsequently Luciano Spalletti.

The figures highlight the considerable financial commitment made by the club as they attempted to build a competitive team capable of challenging for major honours.

More spending has not guaranteed improvement

Spalletti remains in charge, and Juventus have once again invested heavily in new players to strengthen his squad. However, their performances have not improved significantly compared with last season.

The Bianconeri will be hoping to turn things around over the coming weeks and demonstrate that their recruitment strategy can eventually deliver the desired results.

Their situation also highlights an important reality in football: spending substantial amounts on new players does not automatically guarantee success. Juventus have committed considerable resources to improving their squad, but translating that investment into consistent performances and positive results remains their biggest challenge.
