The Seattle Seahawks have been getting some great performances from their defense this season. On Monday, Seattle didn’t exactly see those same results. Seattle lost to the Chicago Bears, 34-17.
While the Seahawks’ defense looked good at times, a startling stat shows how much the team was exposed.
“Seattle’s defense entered Week 8 allowing the second-fewest points despite ranking 30th in getting stops in the red zone. They’re now last in that category after the Bears scored TDs on all four trips inside the 20,” ESPN reporter Brady Henderson posted to X, formerly Twitter.

Seattle allowed 363 yards of offense to Chicago on Monday. The Seahawks certainly struggled though to get stops.
“Our red zone efficiency is terrible right now,” Seattle safety Julian Love said, per ESPN.
Seattle had been a very difficult team to beat. This is the first time in a long time where Seattle lost a game by more than four points. The team posted just 252 yards of offense in the Bears game.
Seattle’s offense was also woeful at running the football. The team mustered just 81 rushing yards on the night.
“We got beat. No other way to sugar coat it,” Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said, per the Associated Press. “When you look at the things that it takes to win in our league, we didn’t do those things and they did.”
Seattle is now just 4-4 on the season. The Seahawks certainly expected more from the campaign so far, after winning last year’s Super Bowl. The team trails the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West.
The Seahawks will try to get a win when they next play the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
