Giants should price a Derrick Henry reunion before overpaying
· Yahoo Sports
The Giants have been linked to Jonathan Taylor, but a different running back with a direct connection to John Harbaugh belongs on their list of calls: Derrick Henry.
NBC Sports’ Mike Florio raised Henry as a possible alternative on Monday. His proposal is speculation about a fit, not a report that the Giants and Ravens are negotiating or that Baltimore has made him available.

A Giants reunion would have a price
Henry played for Harbaugh in Baltimore and has 632 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 158 carries through eight games this season. The workload points to a player who can handle volume; it also matters when assessing a 32-year-old back with a long career of contact.
Florio reported that Henry’s 2027 salary is $12 million with no money guaranteed. An acquiring team would still need to verify the remaining financial obligations and Baltimore’s asking price before treating the deal as affordable.

Taylor offers a different age and contract profile, while keeping the current group preserves resources for a defense the Giants have also tried to improve.
Baltimore controls the timing
Baltimore’s quarterback injuries may change its outlook, but they do not establish that the Ravens intend to move their lead back. New York’s need is real after Tyrone Tracy Jr. went on injured reserve; urgency alone should not determine the compensation.
Harbaugh knows what Henry can do in his offense. Whether the Ravens would part with him, and at what price, is a separate question.
