Christian Watson left the game just before halftime when he apparently got hurt while making an exceptional 53-yard catch that helped set up Green Bay’s second touchdown of the contest. The former North Dakota State star wide receiver was left hurt with Panthers defensive back Will Lee III after that play.

Watson reportedly hurt this chest, but it is seemingly not serious enough for the Packers to rule him out for the remainder of an important game. While he was out, Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love mostly utilized second-year wideout Matthew Golden in the passing game.

Green Bay entered Thursday with a 4-3 record, the worst in the tight NFC North Division standings. The Packers are also coming off a tough 20-17 road loss at Ford Field in Detroit against the Detroit Lions.

The 27-year-old Watson has been among the chief offensive weapons of Green Bay. In his first six games of the season, he racked up 595 receiving yards to go with six touchdowns on 34 receptions and 56 targets. With already 100 receiving yards entering the fourth quarter of the Panthers game, Watson has also already set a new career high for most such yards in a season. His previous career-high was 620 in 2024.
