Now, onto the highlights ...

Omaha Westside CB Kordai Richard: Bang-bang interception

As the second half of Nebraska's Omaha Westside vs. Millard South wore on with a 10-all score line, it was time for someone to rile up some momentum. Kordai Richard answered the call. In a blink-and-you-miss-it play, the senior standout snapped in the interception with a split-second slide under the intended receiver, shocking the whole field when he came up with ball. Omaha Westside ended up blowing the game wide open, finishing with 41-17 blowout of their in-state foe.

Santa Margarita DL Kingston Jimmerson: 78-yard big man TD

Kingston Jimmerson knew not to hesitate. When a sack stripped the ball from JSerra, the sophomore defensive lineman scooped it up immediately to take it 78 yards down the sideline all the way to the house. The nation's No. 1 Santa Margarita squad ended up handily beating the Lancers Friday night, 36-12.

South Putnam RB Ty Benton: Unstoppable TD run

Ty Benton simply could not be stopped. In a Class 2A sectional matchup with Cascade Friday night, the senior running back dragged through a number of Cadet defenders before breaking free to successfully complete his long TD run. It was just one highlight of Benton's dominant, seven-touchdown performance that put his Eagles handily on top of Cascade, 56-33.

Prattville ATH Kolbi King: Spinning pick 6

Getting the first points on the board with a perfectly executed pick 6? Not too shabby. Snagging a ball that almost looked meant for him, Prattville senior Kolbi King twisted around a defender and turned on the jets for a quick 10-yard dash to the house. Prattville ended the night on top, taking down Vestavia Hills 13-0.

Waxahachie WR Jordan Thompson-Woods: TD over defenders

There were some impressive acrobatics in play during Friday night's Texas blockbuster between Duncanville and Waxahachie. After a reception, a short dash and an evaded tackle, junior Jordan Thompson-Woods hurdled over two defenders to reach the end zone for the Indians. The impressive TD was an important part of Waxahachie's eventual hard-fought 35-28 victory.
