Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is a player to start in fantasy football for Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs, although recent turnover problems make him a risky option.

Darnold did not have his best game by any stretch in Week 6 against the Denver Broncos, as he completed 27 of 51 passes for 278 yards without throwing a touchdown. His issue with interceptions continued last week, as he threw two against Denver. Over his last three games played, he has completed just 56.9% of his passes while throwing for 641 yards and three touchdowns along with five interceptions, highlighting his recent inconsistency.

Through six weeks, Darnold has recorded 1,033 passing yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. His passing volume provides fantasy appeal, as does the prospects of the game against the Chiefs turning into an offensive exhibition and the likelihood of him righting the ship quickly, but his turnover issues have limited his reliability. That being the case, Darnold has the opportunity to regain his rhythm in Week 7.

Kansas City enters the matchup with a perfect 5-0 record on the year. The Chiefs have allowed the fourth-fewest passing yards to opposing teams in the league this season with 1,120, and have also given up four passing touchdowns and a 60.9% completion rate to opposing quarterbacks.

Those numbers suggest that the matchup may be challenging for Darnold, but given the stakes and the the high likelihood that running back Zach Charbonnet will make his season debut against Kansas City and give the team a boost in production, Darnold may give fantasy football team managers a great performance this week.
