Ex-NFL QB Thinks Chiefs Should Trade For Garrett Wilson
· Yahoo Sports
The Kansas City Chiefs certainly look like one of the best teams in the entire NFL this season. That is quite impressive, especially with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes fresh off a torn ACL, and tight end Travis Kelce at the tail end of his career.
A big part of the success is Kenneth Walker III, who signed with Kansas City this offseason after being named the Super Bowl MVP as he helped the Seattle Seahawks to a victory.

Still, despite the record and being arguably the best team in the AFC, the Chiefs might make a move at the trade deadline.
Although the deadline isn't until November 10, several names might fit for the Chiefs, and one area they still need to address is the wide receiver position.
Earlier this week, former NFL QB Russell Wilson said the Chiefs should try to acquire New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
It was predicted over the summer that Wilson might request a trade from the Jets, and the thought of the former Ohio State star catching passes from Mahomes in the same offense as Kelce and Walker is something.
Russell Wilson said that the running game will open up the play-action, and he names Garrett Wilson as the man.
"If the Jets keep losing, I'm going to get Garrett Wilson from the Jets."

Russell Wilson said Wilson runs great routes and would flourish in Kansas City in the offense led by Eric Bieniemy, who returning as the team's play-caller this offseason.
Wilson was selected NO. 10 overall by the Jets in 2022, and he had three straight 1,000-yard seasons despite the Jets having QB issues and offensive issues.
In 2025, Wilson played just seven games due to injuries, and he had 36 catches for 395 yards with 4 touchdowns.
In 2026, Geno Smith has been the Jets QB, but Wilson has 35 catches for 418 yards with 3 scores, which means he almost passed all of the numbers from last season.
Wilson's best year came in 2024, when he caught a career-high 101 passes or 1,104 yards and 7 touchdowns as he set career-best marks all across the board.
The issue is that Wilson signed a four-year, $130 million deal with the Jets in 2025, so he is on the second year of that contract.
That comes out to an average of $32.5 million per season, which has him at No. 8 on the list.
Wide receiver contracts are only going to get larger, so the Chiefs landing Wilson on this deal might be a smart move in the long run.
Whether or not they have the firepower to make a move remains to be seen, but Garrett Wilson at Arrowhead Stadium in Chiefs red would be something fun to watch.
