In an appearance on NBA TV's "The Association" Robinson expressed confidence in San Antonio entering the 2026-27 season, praised the addition of veteran Tobias Harris and shared a bold prediction for Victor Wembanyama.
"It's just great to be in the mix and great to know we have a shot," Robinson said. "We have great young talent. I'm confident with Steph Castle. I'm confident with Dylan Harper. I'm confident with our young team. I think they're going to show up night in and night out."
The Spurs reached the Finals last season after beating the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder in seven games in the Western Conference finals. They fell to the New York Knicks in five games.
Robinson said the postseason experience will help the young team grow.
"Our guys were too young," he said. "We ran out of gas a little bit, but those experiences will forever stay in your heart and make you a better player, make you tougher."

Robinson also praised the addition of Tobias Harris, saying the veteran forward could help steady the team in key moments.
"One of our biggest challenges was youth, right? Lack of experience," Robinson said. "To have a guy like that that can steady you … he'll give you those points. He'll give you the toughness. He'll get the big rebound."
Robinson said stamina and strength are the main areas where Victor Wembanyama can improve as he enters his fourth NBA season.
"I think the number one thing is just stamina and strength," he said. "Strength is a natural thing, right? Over the years, you're going to get stronger, and he is. He works very hard."
After experiencing the pressure of the NBA Finals, Robinson expects Wembanyama to be better prepared for another deep playoff run.
"That's not going to happen to him again, I'm sure," Robinson said. "He understands now what the expectation is. He understands the pressure, that constant playoff pressure."
Robinson also predicted Wembanyama will eventually record a quadruple-double, reaching double digits in four of five categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks.
"Well, the easy answer to that question is Wemby," Robinson said when asked who could accomplish the feat next. "It is probably not a matter of if it's going to happen. It's when it's going to happen."

Robinson was the last NBA player to record a quadruple-double, finishing with 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 blocks against the Detroit Pistons in 1994.
"I mean, he can do everything," Robinson said of Wembanyama. "He's going to get 10 assists. He's probably going to get 10 blocks at some point."
Despite his confidence in San Antonio, Robinson still sees Oklahoma City as the team to beat in the Western Conference.
"I still think the Thunder are really the team to beat if they're healthy," he said.
The Spurs open the 2026-27 season Tuesday night against the Thunder in San Antonio.
